Classified's Role in the Race

One of the biggest teams in the sport, Team Ineos Grenadiers, adopted the Classified Powershift Hub during the final day, which for the first time in many years was the performance-focused environment of a Time Trial.

The first time the team put the equipment to the 'race test' was during one of the world's greatest stage races, the Giro d'Italia. Team INEOS Grenadiers achieved outstanding results during the first time trial: Filippo Ganna (2nd), Magnus Sheffield (3rd), and Thymen Arensman (4th) secured top-four finishes, with Geraint Thomas also making the top ten.

The Start 

The race began in Zakopane, Poland’s winter capital. At the crack of dawn, our ever-enthusiastic organiser Piko sent us off up a gruelling 20-percent incline toward the first mountain ridge. This initial ascent unveiled stunning views over the city and its snow-dusted peaks, setting the tone for the adventure ahead. At the start of such races, it’s common to see competitors pushing too hard, caught up in the initial rush of adrenaline. Maintaining a steady, swift pace is key, yet many find themselves overtaking only to falter later. I chatted with a few seasoned racers in the first few kilometres, which bolstered my confidence in the event and its organisers. Predictably, I was passed by nearly everyone within the first hour, but I watched them closely, wondering when our paths would cross

It takes a team to get on the podium

In what transpired to be an amazing battle, Piotr Havik sprinted to 4th place after an intense 327 km of unforgiving gravel terrain. While Piotr had to do the pedalling by himself, a highly motivated team was with him to support him throughout the ride. A superfast 'F1 pitstop style' wheel change to deal with a slow puncture at a critical moment in the race made all the difference, and although Toby Perry had to quit after 100 miles due to sickness, it did not stop him from taking action in the support car.

Classified and ENVE announce partnership

Customers will be able to choose from a selection of road and gravel wheelsets along with a rolling chassis bicycle build, equipped with Classified’s pioneering internal hub shifting technology.

Classified Cycling will be bringing its proprietary internal hub shifting technology to carbon wheel and frame manufacturer ENVE’s premium products, giving ENVE customers access to new levels of performance on road and gravel.

The global partnership will see several ENVE wheel models outfitted with Classified’s Powershift hubshell. This enables riders to install the system and enjoy the gearing range and versatility offered by a 2x system but with the increased efficiency and aerodynamic advantages of a 1x, as well as the ability to shift under load, for more control. It will allow customers to build a bike from the wheels up with products including the MOG / Melee / Fray, Foundation, SES, and G Series. The system will also be available to purchase as a complete rolling chassis model, where consumers can select their bike build online or through ENVE’s dealer network. This includes options to fully integrate Classified’s Powershift technology with other selections

Increasing firepower of the gravel team - adding more riders & partners

Under the curious eyes of numerous spectators and cyclists at Velofollies, we unveiled our Factory Gravel Team.

The team, also backed by Ridley, is set to become the first professional factory team in the gravel discipline. 
Classified entered the gravel circuit in 2023 as a one-man team with Dutchman Piotr Havik; shortly after Daan Grosemans joined the team during the season. Now the company is lending its name to an additional three British gravel talents: Brits Toby Perry, Annabel Fisher, and Freya Rawlins.
