Maximise efficiency and aerodynamic gains with 1x efficiency, with the gearing range of a 2x system
Until now, triathletes and time trialists have had to make a compromise. With Powershift Technology for triathlon and time trial you don’t have to compromise. You can have the best of both worlds – the added aerodynamic and efficiency gains of a 1x system, combined with the wider gearing range of a traditional 2x system. Never before seen in triathlon and time trial, in the words of professional triathlete, Kyle Smith, ‘it’s a game changer!
Maximise your race with the Powershift advantage
No front derailleur
Significantly reduce aero drag
No cross chaining
Increase efficiency by straighter chainlines
No small chainrings
Avoid 45% higher chain forces. Bigger is better
Powershift when accerating or cornering
Proven in competition
Triathletes Kyle Smith and Ruth Astle have already achieved impressive results racing on the system during the 2023 season.
At May’s PTO season opener in Ibiza, Astle set the fastest bike leg by over two minutes, whilst Smith was the first male athlete off the bike, ahead of multiple OIympic gold medalists & Ironman World Champions, including Kristian Blummenfelt, Jan Frodeno and Alastair Brownlee.
“It is the ability to just shift so quickly under load, which is really helpful, particularly on courses with steeper climbs. But the ability to always run a bigger chainring up front dramatically increases the efficiency of the bike even further. It just makes me go faster!” — Ruth Astle
Powershift with your favorite brand
Entry into triathlon and time trial also allows Classified to work more closely with its growing list of partner and OEM brands. Working with likeminded frame partners like Ceepo, Argon 18, and others, allow Classified to optimise the efficiency gains of Powershift Technology.
Similarly, Classified has a growing list of wheel partners like HUNT, HED, Vison FSA and Parcours, who have Powershift ready, deep section wheels that are optimised for triathlon and time trial. This allows all levels of athletes to create the most efficient bike set up on their own bespoke dream build.
Classified x Parcours are also proud to release the world’s first Powershift ready full disc wheel. Combining the efficiency benefits of Powershift Technology with Parcours’ width optimised technology allowing for a more efficient and comfortable ride. The Powershift Disc has already been raced by Kyle Smith and Ruth Astle with great results.
How it works
1
Shift button
The satellite shift button triggers a shift and is attached to the Smart Handlebar Unit, sending out a wireless signal.
2
Smart thru axle
The Smart Thru Axle receives the wireless shift signal and triggers the hub to shift using contactless energy transfer.
3
Powershift hub
The hub receives the signal and shifts between 2 ratios, similar to shifting a front derailleur between big and small chainring.
Benefits
Ultimate gear range
24 gears, small steps, up to 530% gearing range.
Instant shifting
150 miliseconds, that’s all it takes.
More efficient
More efficient than traditional 1x or 2x drivetrains.
Shift under full load
Up to 1000 watts.
Weatherproof
No need to worry about dirt or rain.

about Classified
“It is the ability to just shift so quickly under load, which is really helpful, particularly on courses with steeper climbs. But the ability to always run a bigger chainring up front dramatically increases the efficiency of the bike even further. It just makes me go faster!”
— Ruth Astle
"The speed at which you notice the benefits of the system is remarkable,” added Kyle Smith. “The extra efficiency gains mean that I can ride faster on the bike leg, and I feel fresher when transitioning into the run. Classified is a gamechanger for the sport.”
— Kyle Smith
“The Classified system instantly came into its own here, with the ability to very quickly change the gear you’re in by the equivalent ratio of two to three gears of a standard cassette, without having to let off the power at all. Once I became more familiar with the system and the ratio change, I was able to supplement this change with a shift of the rear derailleur too, getting myself into the perfect gear to lay down some hammer on the climb.”
— Robery Johnston, The Loam Wolf
“Where the Powershift proved to be a revelation and a comfort factor was during small taps, meaning small, unplanned steep climbs. What a blast! In this type of situation, we would have usually shifted several gears very quickly while forcing the chain to get to the end of the climb. With the Classified system, a simple thumb movement on the Ringshifter is enough to get to the top, without having to force the transmission at all. Just after this steep passage, the return to the top position (1/1 ratio) is done in an instant and we can attack the rest of the descent at full speed.”
