Super Hero Chantal Haenen Strikes Again

Super Hero Chantal Haenen Strikes Again

We’re incredibly proud of Chantal Haenen, who has once again proven her dominance by becoming a double world champion in the H5 category at the 2024 UCI Para-cycling Road World Championships in Zurich!

Chantal claimed the rainbow jersey in both the Individual Time Trial and the Road Race, cementing her status as a force to be reckoned with in para-cycling.

A Sprint to Glory

In the road race, Chantal showcased her strength and tactical brilliance, taking victory in a thrilling sprint à deux against Italian Ana Maria Vitelaru. German Andrea Eskau finished third, more than 5.5 minutes behind the leading duo. This incredible performance comes just days after Chantal’s dominant win in the time trial.

An Inspiring Journey

Chantal’s journey is nothing short of heroic. Following a life-changing accident in 2015, she turned adversity into triumph, starting her handcycling career in 2017. Since then, she has become a nine-time world medalist, inspiring everyone at Classified Cycling and beyond.

"For me Classified is a game-changer, especially in hilly terrain, where I can always find the perfect gear without the large jumps others face with a single-speed and MTB cassette. Plus, I no longer have to worry about the chain coming off, making my rides far more reliable," according to Chantal Haenen.

This isn’t the first time Chantal has achieved the championship double—she also claimed both titles in 2021. Her remarkable story and relentless drive embody what it means to be a true champion.

Congratulations, Chantal, on yet another unforgettable achievement!
